A Girl Can Never Have too Many Pa-Pa’s

Last Weekend we took a trip to Hewitt, with a quick stop over in Temple.  We were able to see our good friends Lola and Allison – or as CB now calls them Pa-Pa A and “WoWa”.

I was reminded by Lola that CB’s problem with L’s might be genetic, as in CB wasn’t the first Havens’ child to call her WoWa.

As you can see, CB warmed quickly to “Pa-Pa A”  They got in a little pre-dinner exercise.  Pretty impressive too, I might add, considering Pa-Pa A was flat on his back in a hospital bed the last time we saw him. Just goes to show you; can’t keep a good man down.

A good belly laugh at dinner!

I noticed that there were no pictures of me, Alison, or Lola.  Looks like we’ll have to plan another trip to complete the blog. Shouldn’t be so hard now that we have a constant reminder.  For the rest of the weekend, anytime we’d turn a corner, CB would pipe up, “Papa A and WoWa’s house?”

First Day of School

A couple of weeks ago, we had a monumental occurrence.  Unfortunately, the blog has been down for awhile, so I’m making up for lost time.

Back to the story, CB had her first day of school at The Prep School.

CB was very excited and kept telling us all about going to “My School, My School!!!”

Here is CB with her teachers…she loves them.  Although one of the teachers must look familiar, because CB refers to her as “Nana”

On a side note, we are very pleased with the school, but I am looking into other options.  After her first day, CB came home and was telling us everything she did.  She grinned at mommy and told her how she “kissed a boy”

She then looked at me, and of course refused to tell daddy anything about this event.  Nonetheless, I’m looking into a Private Catholic All-Girls School immediately!!!

Happy New Year

Yes, I’m well aware that it’s February, but like I said earlier…technical difficulties.  Al, CB, and I headed to Dallas for the New Year’s weekend.  Priceline is the best thing I’ve found on the internet so far.

We stayed at the Hilton that is adjacent to the Galleria, Al and CB just hated that.

The best part was the indoor pool.  CB loved it!!!!  She had not been swimming since this summer, and when I told her she was going swimming in December and started unpacking her bathing suit – she looked at me like I was nuts.

CB still wasn’t sure what to think about the indoor pool, quite an experience for her, but as you can see she loved it.  In fact, I think the rest of the trip was a let down, we know for next time that we never have to leave the hotel!

Now you might be wondering, “Where is Mommy?”  Mommy was all excited and ready to jump in, until she discovered the water temp.  So that left Daddy to brave the arctic tundra.  It looks like CB is smiling…actually her mouth just froze that way.

On to the Shopping!!!!

Unfortunately, the girl is a natural.  This is what we refer to as one of her “Nana” tendencies.

And another girl on the way.  If she’s anything like her older sister, well I just hope the Courthouses are wheelchair accessible when I’m hauling my carcass into Court at age 97 to pay for the girls’ last shopping trip.

We couldn’t pass up the chance to post these pics.  (I know Lola especially will love the outfit) Our good friends, the Keatons, picked up this outfit for CB while they were in New York.  Only problem is, I’m the one left to fend off the vicious martial arts attacks

CB is preparing for one of her Crouching Tiger moves here…

This is the only thing I could capture of her double back flip, roundhouse kick.  Much like her father, CB is blessed with super-human cat like reflexes, and I couldn’t catch her smashing the boards with my digital camera…it was all just one big blur :)
